A stick built home covered in log siding does not have to look like a stick built home covered in log siding. While there are less expensive options available, we feel the most authentic log cornering system available for a half-log house is RippleCraft’s Interlocking Corner. Our half-log interlocking corner is the same corner we use in our full log houses. In fact, our corner pieces are made out of full-logs before a cut-out is applied to the inside edge.
We always rub wax on the corner joint while assembling the logs to slide them into place. We mill the logs to fit tightly, and without the wax, getting the logs together would be very difficult. These illustrations are of our interlocking siding for new construction. We modify the corner notches slightly for existing construction so that the final assembled corner looks like this:
In order to provide you with the most efficient siding option available, RippleCraft will alter the lengths of your corner log in lengths beginning at 4′ and in increments of 2′ thereafter up to 16 feet. This will allow you to select corner blocks that actually fit your home, rather than having to absorb the cost of unnecessary waste.
